Children learn to grow their own vegetables. Over time they get to reap the fruits of their labour and pick the tomatoes that they will be having for lunch. Children learn the importance of nature and nurture. They get so excited seeing how their veggie garden is growing. The teacher incorporates the teaching of photosynthesis. Math concepts are taught by learning half, whole and quarter while cutting up their vegetables. Children also learn to identify which fruit bear seeds.
This is a valuable learning area in our school.
